Marpa Institute was established in 1998 in Szczecin as an initiative of Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche’s students. Khenpo was born in Tibet and is one of the most highly educated and experienced masters of meditation in nyingma and kagyu traditions. Rinpoche has been extensively traveling and teaching also in the West since seventies.
The institute is a non-profit organization aimed to bring in Dharma teachings to those interested ones. Following activities in three areas are to serve the above aim:
Dharma Studies Center
- invites teachers,
- organizes courses under the studies program guided by Khenpo Rinpoche on the view and practice of the main Buddhist philosophical schools,
- elaborates and publishes received teachings,
- and organizes seminars and conferences dedicated to Buddhist themes.
Dharma Translators Forum which objective is to increase the quality of Buddhist texts translations through creating translating standards of Tibetan and Sanskrit terms into Polish language and organizing discussions forum for dharma translators.
Pulisher which issues various materials related to dharma teachings: translations of root Buddhists texts, teachings and commentaries of contemporary teachers and items presenting Buddhism in a non-traditional form i.e. textbooks, novels, researches related to Buddhism, children’s books etc.
